Almost all industries and offices use heavy duty vacuums for cleaning. The suction in these vacuums is generally a lot more powerful than regular vacuum cleaners and therefore much more efficient in cleaning. Vacuum cleaners used in industries usually come in two main sizes: 30 gallon vacuums and 55 gallon vacuums. The type and design used by a particular industry depends on the need of that particular industry. Most industrial vacuums are of the bag-less variety. The advantage of this is that the supervisor at the industry does not need to replace bags every few days. The motor in most of the heavy duty vacuums is closed, so that everything that is vacuumed goes from the bottom of the vacuum, up the hose and directly into the vacuum cleaner bags. One of the most effective ways to shorten the life of a vacuum cleaner is by is allowing the vacuum cleaner bag to overfill and/or break. In vacuums where the motor is "protected", the motor resides underneath the vacuum cleaner bag area. If a homeowner uses a heavy duty vacuum cleaner with a bag for the house than it is best that the vacuum bag us replaced at least every month. This will help maintain the vacuums at top efficiency. Homeowners can also consider using hypo-allergenic bags for their heavy duty vacuums. These are treated to reduce dust and dust mites from being reintroduced into the air.
