There are a number of designs of industrial vacuum cleaners available. Picking the right style and design has a lot to do with the company's needs.

A supervisor who is considering buying heavy duty vacuums for new corporate office first needs to decide on the style of cleaners. There are basically two styles of heavy duty vacuum cleaners- upright and canister.

Upright vacuum cleaners have the motor, handle, carpet brush and dirt storage in a single unit. On the other hand, canister vacuums have two separate pieces that are connected together with a long hose. In the canister style of vacuums the vacuum head, brush and handle are in one container while the suction motor and dirt containment are in another.

Another consideration while buying heavy duty vacuum cleaners is the weight of these devices. Supervisors want to make sure that they buy light vacuum cleaners that are easy to transport and move from one place to another. If space is at a premium in the office, supervisors need to ensure that they buy slim vacuum cleaners.

Industrial vacuum cleaners usually consume a lot of power and have high capacities to collect dirt. These vacuum cleaners come in two sizes, usually, 30 and 55 gallons. A supervisor who is buying industrial vacuum cleaners for a storehouse needs to check on the suction capability of the vacuum heads.

Another major consideration that individuals need to make while buying vacuum cleaners is whether to go with the bagged variety or the bagless variety. The last few years have seen a rise in popularity of the bagless industrial vacuum cleaners. The advantage of these vacuum cleaners is that there is no mess involved and capability of the system does not come down because the bag is full.
